Sean Turns 9-Months Old

At 9 months, Sean is an able crawler who gets where he wants very quickly. He went from slithering on his belly to hand-knee crawling within days. Now, all he wants to do is pull himself up from a sitting position. And he gets into EVERYTHING. Nothing disinterests him and what he likes most are cords, plastic bags, and specks of anything on the floor which he promptly puts in his mouth. He is still a fantastic sleepr and doesn't fuss at all. If we put him down and he's not sleepy, he just talks to himself until he falls asleep. Because he is such a great sleeper, life with two kids seems almost manageable, even normal. Sure there are those crazy times where it seems the house will fall down but it does get easier and easier every day. We've started to move him away from pureed/mashed up food to chunkier bite size pieces. Soon, he'll be eating what we all eat and dinner time can really be a family event.

He's definitely on the small side which we hope only means he's a late bloomer. He's got plenty of rolls and those cheeks probably weigh a good pound each so the doc isn't concerned at all. Probably burning those calories chasing dust bunnies...

Elise's Point of View

Our friends Christian and Gen have a 3 year old son, Ronan, who is quite the photographer and creative extraordinaire. They gave him a digital camera to take pictures and when we read about it on their blog, we thought "what a great idea!" It was so interesting to see what they see and how the world looks from their eyes. So, we gave Elise a digital camera and watched her click away. She took a lot of pictures of us and many of just objects super close up. With Dad as the resident photographer in the house, we definitely see where she gets it from.
