Update

Hi Everyone,

We know it's been a while since we last updated this blog. So much has happened over the summer that it's hard to know where to begin. In July, we sold our house in San Mateo and moved in with my parents in Daly City. Selling a house in a down market certainly wasn't any fun and extremely taxing on our daily lives. The moving part was probably worse. It was actually Steve who ended up packing the majority of the house since I had to travel 3 weeks in a row. We had to put most of our things in storage due to limited space at my parent's house.

Then the search for our home started and every weekend was spent driving around Burlingame and Palo Alto neighborhoods. You'd think searching for your next dream home would be fun and certainly so when we bought our first place 8 years ago and didn't have a clue what we wanted. When you know what you want and only like the houses you can't afford, that's when the fun stops. We ended up focusing on Palo Alto after getting to know the area better and just loving the neighborhoody feel. We lost out on two homes we wanted but things happen for a reason and we found a house on the most beautiful tree-lined street in PA around the corner from Elise's soon-to-be elementary school.

We weren't going to make it that easy on us because we are tearing the house down and rebuilding from the ground up. So, we'll be living in Daly City for at least another 9-12 months while our house is being built and hopefully this time next year, we'll be preparing our first Thanksgiving dinner for our families in our new home.

Lastly, did I mention that we're expecting Baby #3 (a girl) in February? Inevitably we also get the question "was it planned?" and the answer is "yes". Elise is very excited about her baby sister and wants to kiss my belly all the time. Sean can't figure out why there's no room on my lap anymore.
