18-Month Milestone

Our "Seanie" turned 18 months in December and getting more active every day. He has plenty of bumps and bruises to prove it but overall is a pretty tough little guy. And when we mean tough, we also mean that he doesn't let anyone push him around even kids twice his size. At his daycare, where he's by far the youngest, he struts around like he's the boss. When a new kid joined a few weeks ago, he came right up to him and gave him a welcome hug then tried to give him a "tour" of the place. So funny.

Stats:

Height - 33 1/2 inches (25% percentile)

Weight - 22 lbs. (10% percentile)

Favorite Foods - vegetable tempura, chicken nuggets, eggrolls...notice a theme here? He loves fried foods like his Mom.

Words - Sean definitely understands alot more than he speaks. Just the other day we were getting ready to go out and he grabbed his gray shoes but we wanted him to wear his brown pair (to match his outfit of course) and we said "Not the gray ones, get the brown and orange ones, Sean" and it only took him a second to register before he dropped the gray ones and found his brown pair. His modest list of words include: Ma-ma, Da-da, Che-che (big sis Elise), Woo-woo (dog), and signs for milk, more, please, all done

Favorite activities - Turns out our "boy" is just like any other boy. He loves trucks, trains, cars and basically anything with wheels. It definitely supports the nature theory because our house is anything but "boy-friendly". Another favorite activity is reading books. If you happen to be sitting on the floor, he'll grab a book and plop right into your lap. Sometimes we get caught up in what we're doing and don't notice that Sean has disappeared. We will find him sitting on a sofa chair with a book on his lap flipping through the pages. He even "reads" out loud and points to things he likes.

Sleepwise he's still a dream. Down by 7:30, up by 7:00/7:30 and not a peep in between. Even when he's not quite ready to sleep, we hear him babbling to himself (sometimes for over an hour) then silence.

With Elise, he is always ready and willing to give her a hug at a moment's notice. At the same time, he knows how to push her buttons. The more she yells at him to give back her toy, the more he runs away. When he senses that she's about to explode, he willingly gives back her toy as if to say "I'm just playing with you, calm down".
