Happy 6-Months Sean

Sean is now 6 months old and blooming into his own. He is so cheery and bubbly that it is so uncommon to hear him cry but when he does, it's usually because we've neglected him in the bouncy chair too long and just wants to be held. Poor guy has had to entertain himself alot since we're usually running in all directions with our hands full with Elise or some other crisis in the house.
Most of the time, he's trying to grab anything he can get his hands on and bounce off our lap. Sean is now an expert roller, gaining mobility by rolling back to front and front to back until he's stuck somewhere in a corner. One second he's in the middle of the room and the next second he's wedged in between the swing and the wall. Just in the last couple of days, he's started inching forward but gets his hands stuck underneath his body so he ends up face planting into the floor. But we can see he's determined and it wouldn't surprise us at all if he starts crawling by Christmas. Last week, we hit another milestone which was introducing him to solids. We can't say he loved his brown rice cereal since it took several tries to finish just one teaspoon. A whole spoonful went in, half went out, half pushed back in, half came out, and so on.
Sean's 6 month birthday also marked the beginnings of stranger anxiety. He can recognize people who are around him all the time and cries when he is surrounded by too many unfamiliar faces. Puddles of tears start welling up the rims of his big eyes and when they can no longer be contained, the dam breaks loose and tears flow down his chubby cheeks. It breaks our hearts because he looks so scared and frightened that we might actually leave him. And when one of us comes into the room, he perks up immediately and follows us with his eyes with a hopeful look that we might pick him up.
