Sean - 2 months
Two months have passed and so much has already happened:
1) We hired Nancy to help watch Sean and Elise part of the week to give Grandma Nguyen a little break. Nancy is wonderful with Elise and Sean and we are really lucky to have found her through the Burlingame Mother's Club.
2) Sean has almost doubled his birth weight and is sleeping a little longer at a time although it's been painful getting him to sleep and stay asleep (more on this later)
Weight: 10lbs. 8 oz. (25th percentile)
Height: 22.5 inches (25th percentile)
3) Mom is returning to work on August 1st :(
4) Elise has moved into her new bedroom and sleeps in her big bed. She didn't put up any kind of a fuss or protest except she likes to get out of bed and roam the house looking for us. This morning, we heard the pitter-patter of her footsteps down the hall at 7:20am calling out for "Da-da".
5) We originally thought Sean would be easier to sleep train but it turns out he's just like any other infant...he likes to be held and rocked to sleep and he likes it to stay that way for a looooong time. Determined to help us all sleep better, we hired a sleep consultant for Sean. Vivian "the sleep guru" came to our house for 2 hours and talked us through her technique and put together a schedule for Sean. Already we are seeing results with his naps. We put him down without any rocking or bouncing and he goes to sleep all by himself. There was some crying in the beginning but it didn't last very long. By the third nap, there was no crying at all. Before this, someone had to hold him for hours while he napped which made for some very achy arms. We are still working on his bedtime but hopefully it'll go as smoothly as his naps.
6) Elise is well on her way to school. Having started summer school at Centennial Montessori and now at the Peninsula Jewish Community Center, she has adjusted very well and just loves it. Every Tuesday and Thursday she attends the PJCC and once we arrive, she runs so fast into the classroom we hardly get a good-bye or kiss squeezed in. In the fall, she'll attend Centennial Montessori Monday thru Thursday from 9:00-12:30.

Hey Trang!
Welcome back to work. Sean is such a cutie pie! Anyway, I have some ?'s re sleeping. I think your old mizkim email doesn't work. Send me an email (still the same account) so I know what your new address is and I can talk to you there....
